Seems like Three are outperforming Vodafone, O2, EE etc.

YouGov - What the world thinks.

Every quarter YouGov asks smartphone users to rate their network for reliability - and Three came out on top.

The YouGov survey is important because it's a poll you can trust - it's customers just like you rating their experience.

In the last five years the Three network has doubled in size, and today it covers 98% of the UK population. They were also the first network to offer 4G at no extra cost. All their plans come with 4G as standard.

  • Three is rated the UK's most reliable network according to smartphone users surveyed by YouGov.
  • In the latest SMIX Wave 22 survey, Three outperformed other operators for overall reliability.
  • YouGov surveyed 4,084 mobile users, of which 3,202 qualified respondents owned a smartphone.
  • The survey found that we scored the highest for overall reliability against the three other mobile networks.

This survey was conducted between 9th and 16th of March and is the twenty-second wave of a larger independent study, which is conducted quarterly. Interviews were carried out online by YouGov panellists. Three is the highest rated MNO (Mobile Network Operators).

Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) were excluded from the analysis.

This is England, when it ruled the world

Roger, a young fellow African, first sang this song in 1975. He was born in Kenya, studied medicine in Cape Town, but left to go into music.

The last Farewell epitomises the nineteenth century, when our ships ruled the world. Now we are just a small colony, with little say, in the new German/French empire.

Some free books and their websites which may be of interest

One very interesting website, in America is the Ludwig von Mises website where you can not only buy books on all forms of Libertarianism, politics and economics but if you can't afford the books, they are perfectly happy to let you download pdf's or e-pub files free of charge.

One book I downloaded was so good, I then purchased the book. This was Murray Rothbard's "The Ethics of Liberty".

A piece of free software called Calibre, available on Windows, Apple or Linux, will allow you to change to other formats, useful if you have a Kindle. I've used Calibre for years, perfectly clean.

Another website is by Anthony Robbins, This is in California and is his "Leadership Academy". Anthony is a little more mercenary than the von Mises organisation but what he offers is very worthwhile. There is a page full of free videos on the website and also a free ebook to download.

Anthony has a business of helping companies and I do remember that IBM and the American Air Force were clients of his.

I purchased two copies of his "Awaken the Giant Within" from Amazon. One for me and another for my wife. We got an awful lot of really good information to work on to help us with our lives and twenty years ago, when he came to London I went on his Unleash the Power Within full weekend, Friday to Monday, and actually walked on red hot coals. At the end of the firewalk I thought "Is this all it is" but the next morning I felt I could do anything in life I wanted to. This book is available on Amazon, in paperback or Kindle, but Tony is offering an update free on his website in PDF, EPub or Kindle (mobi) format.

I hope the above information will help you, in one way or the other, as it certainly has been invaluable to me.

Governments shouldn't interfere with business but...

They can do subtle things.

I have a plan which will endeavour to bring a little honesty into public limited company bonuses for directors and their chairman.

And, it is so simple.
The Plan:
On the Balance Sheet notes, there should be a list of bonuses for each director on offer. Each director must state the criteria with which he can earn his bonus.
For example, if a director is offered a bonus of £1M he must add, in the Balance Sheet notes, what he has to do to earn it. Such as increase sales by 10%, increase share value by 15% or whatever.
It would be perfectly legal for him to say, increase company share value by a ha'penny, but remember, he has to get this past the shareholders at the AGM. He'd very quickly be voted out of his bonus.
OK, the last example is a little extreme, but the idea is that if a director doesn't put a realistic aim for his bonus he may get it reduced or even cancelled by the shareholders.

Tasers are all very well, but...

As most of my readers know, I come from Africa and, in the bush, vets hunt animals in which they want to insert radio trackers. This is so they can study their movements across Africa. Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Lions, to name but a few.
They hunt them in Helicopters, and when near, fire a tranquilliser dart from a rifle. After a short while, the animal collapses, unconscious. The tracker is inserted, the vet and Helicopter moves off. The animal regains consciousness and carries on its way non the worse for the interlude.
I would like our laboratories to work on a less powerful dart which will knock a human out, but only after a minute or so. There is a good reason for this last comment.

When we have riots and huge violent mobs roaming an area, police won't have to get near to them as they do with tasers, so can keep well away from the reach of the angry mob.

When there is looting, or violence en masse, the police can start shooting in the knowledge they won't do any lasting damage or kill anyone. Once a mobster gets hit, he'll know he has a minute or so to get from being trampled underfoot by his colleagues.

Ampers Humour; Men, be wary about how you go about getting your divorce.

After 37 years of marriage. Jake dumped his wife for his young secretary.

His new girlfriend demanded that they live in Jake and Edith's multi-million pound home and since the man's lawyers were a little better than the woman's he prevailed.

He gave Edith his now ex-wife just 3 days to move out. She spent the 1st day packing her belongings into boxes crates and suitcases.

On the 2nd day she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the 3rd day she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight put on some soft background music and feasted on a pound of king prawns, a jar of caviar and a bottle of Chardonnay.

When she had finished she went into each and every room and stuffed half-eaten prawn shells dipped in caviar into the hollow of all of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend all was bliss for the first few days.

Then slowly the house began to smell. They tried everything cleaning mopping and airing the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents and carpets were cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere.

Not all Tory MPs are useless idiots.

Ex Captain Johnny Mercer's maiden speech in the House of Commons brought tears to the eyes of this ex-forces blogger.

"The past decade and a half has defined a whole generation of us in often unseen wars against enemies that only seem to grow darker.

"We have no complaints about the duty that we have chosen. It formed many of us; indeed, it made many of us who we are today. We were proud to defend this great nation in the same traditions of the immense sacrifices of our forefathers.

"However, last week the Prime Minister spoke of the gravity of the end of combat operations in Afghanistan. For many families, that marks the end of the sleepless nights by the phone and the ever-dreaded knock at the door.

"But there remains a great stain on this nation when it comes to conflict. In 2012, we reached a very unwelcome threshold when, tragically, more soldiers and veterans killed themselves than were killed on operational service in defence of the realm.

Johnny Mercer in centre

"It goes without saying that there are some genuine heroes in our communities and charities up and down this land who work tirelessly night and day to look after and assist those who have found returning to a peaceful life the biggest challenge of all. Many of these veterans are not only from Afghanistan.

BREAKING: UKIP will not stop international aid

However, they intend to stop the present system where it goes to help dictators build their armies so as to suppress their people. Then there are corporate jets and helicopters, homes, and holiday homes as far away as Paris where they all seem to want them.

They intend to pour aid into areas which have earthquakes, tsunamis and other natural disasters, where the money and aid can do the most good.

I would like to take the aid idea one step further. And you may be surprised to learn I want to give more money away than UKIP.

I'd certainly cut down our bill for overseas aid, but not nearly as much as many UKIP members would like. You see, I am thinking of the UK economy and I see a way of carrying on helping the ordinary people in these countries and, at the same time, helping our country and our people.

I would not give money. I would give credit which they can use to buy British goods, and employ British experts to help their country grow.

Was Hitler a Fascist or Socialist, this video lays that question finally to rest.

I don't like Hannan, but that is no reason not to promote his work if it is sensible and has a grain of truth in it. This has many tons of truth.

However, if you are of the left, I sincerely urge you not to watch it or you will become confused and listless. In fact it might even break your heart.

This video isn't that long but is an eye opener.

After you watch this, you will also know the answer.
