Forget "Article 50" - it will cripple us. This is the only way to get out of the EU

The Road to Freedom
How Britain Can Leave the European Union
Discussion Paper by Gerard Batten MEP
March 2013 © Gerard Batten
UKIP was founded with the objective of bringing about Britain’s unconditional withdrawal from the European Union. If withdrawal is not unconditional then someone will have to set the conditions, and it will be the European Union and not a sovereign British Parliament.
There is a school of thought that says Britain can only leave the EU by invoking Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. Article 50 says, “Any Member State may decide to withdraw from the Union in accordance with its own constitutional requirements”. It then sets out a lengthy, complex and costly procedure for doing so in accordance with Article 218 (3) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. The withdrawing Member State is not allowed to participate in the discussions or decisions of the European Council (Heads of Government) or the Council (Government Ministers) on the terms of withdrawal. The whole process may take up to two years.
This procedure would obviously be unacceptable to a sovereign nation such as the United Kingdom. Therefore the UK Independence Party should reject this humiliating and dishonourable course of action and this pamphlet sets out the legal basis of unconditional withdrawal.

An ANC Member of Parliament discusses apartheid in Israel

I am neither for Israel, nor against them. But I am very much for South Africa. Hear what a black South African MP says about Israel and Apartheid.

No need for more words, the video is self-explanatory!

If I were king... What the UK would look like!

If I were Dictator of the United Kingdom.

1. We would increase our armed forces.

2. We would supply them with the finest equipment that money could buy.

3. We would increase training from present, to half way towards special forces training.

4. We would double our special forces personnel and supply fast transport for them capable of reaching anywhere in the world.

Testing an Android app for this blog

I will be attending the 20 year anniversary Autumn Conference of UKIP on Friday and Saturday. I hope, afterwards, to let you all know how it went.

Meanwhile, here is a picture of two of our loyal members who sre standing for high office. The one on the left as an MEP and the other as an MP.

The elephant in the room with a vengeance!

This video is from a person, and a party, which, although I don't approve of, is about something that really needed to be said. I am a little unhappy bringing it to you as Hitler was Austrian, and listing to Mr Stadler brings back some very unpleasant memories. We need the right in power to cease the communistic EU, but how much better we are for having Nigel Farage and UKIP, rather than Ewald Stadlet of the BZO.

But, you be the judge.

Now Ewald Stadler from BZÖ
Mr federal minister, I want to make a request – and knowing that this debate will be followed closely at the Turkish embassy I will give it in the exact wording:
The federal minister for European and International Affairs is requested to declare the Turkish ambassador Kadri Ecvet Tezca‚ persona non grata’ and demand his immediate dismissal

Terrific support guy - they aren't all bad

We often berate useless support centres but I feel credit should be given when it is due.

I had a very helpful guy whose name was Mujibar. He took me through my problem step by step with infinite patience until my problem was solved.

I got talking to him on a more personal nature and asked him how he got started in his job. He told me that when he went for his interview the Personnel Manager told him: "Mujibar, you have passed all the tests, except one. Unless you pass it, you cannot qualify for this job."

Mujibar then replied, saying: "I am ready." The manager said: "Make a sentence using the words Yellow, Pink, and Green ...."

Mujibar said he thought about it for a while and replied: "The telephone goes Green, Green, I Pink it up, and say, Yellow, this is Mujibar."

The personnel Manager said I got full marks for creativity but I didn't understand. But was pleased to get a job.

I then asked if he could send me a photograph of himself and was very pleased when it arrived two weeks later.
