I have been over zealous with political comment lately so have now accepted the offer to assemble and write for two blogs on the WatchingUK website. The "Good News" blog is for items where we have benefited from the Brexit referendum vote and the "Bad News" blog is where others have tried to damage our chances of leaving the EU.

Article 2 of the Human Rights act allows for legal execution

The article mentions:

“Everyone’s right to life shall be protected by law. No one shall be deprived of his life intentionally save in the execution of a sentence of a court following his conviction of a crime for which this penalty is provided by law.”
 The emboldening is mine.

This should be repeated to politicians whenever they bleat that we wouldn't be allowed to re-introduce the death penalty.

I have read the recent petition where a death sentence is called for for the murder of children and policemen. I thought the people who worded the petition were fiendishly clever as they didn't mention the one crime that the politicians would never, in a month of Sundays, vote for.

Let's face it, practically every politicians could be hanged if that were to become law for losing our sovereignty. And this could even include our Queen.

Don't get me wrong. I am a great admirer of her position and the benefit having a head of state who doesn't have to jockey for power so can concentrate on meeting, greeting and giving a great continuity, but she did countersign all the treaties. It would be difficult to grant her immunity but I would hope they could..
