APOLOGIES
I have been over zealous with political comment lately so have now accepted the offer to assemble and write for two blogs on the WatchingUK website. The "Good News" blog is for items where we have benefited from the Brexit referendum vote and the "Bad News" blog is where others have tried to damage our chances of leaving the EU.

Sometimes written words can get in the way.

This blog is for men's eyes only, There is nothing here for the fairer sex.

Men,

If you don't know how to cook, there is an easy way of preparing your meal.

It's called Google.

Try Googling: Recipe: followed by the name of your recipe if you just want a specific recipe. Google will find a hundred variations of the recipe and all you have to do is to pick the one that explains how to cook it in the simplest and clearest way.

Try Googling: How do I cook followed by the name of the type of food and Google will, as above, find dozens of variations and all you have to do is to pick the one that explains how to cook it in the simplest and clearest way.

It really is that simple. Most recipes have two sections. A list of ingredients, and instructions on how to cook them.

Remember to do your research far enough in advance to enable you to ensure you have purchased all the ingredients.

If you enjoyed your experiment in cooking, here what I always do when trying a new dish.

A joint exercise in moving house in the 21st century

So what should we look for in our new home? I will get the ball rolling and if you can think of other things please include them in a comment.

Here are some ideas to get the ball rolling and I will blog again with any useful add ons you think of. They aren't in any particular order.

1. On an incline, not at the top where you might get the wind, but high enough up so if there is substained rainfall, you won't be flooded.

2. Facing a direction what will ensure your back porch gets the sun in the morning and evening.

3. In an area which gets good mobile phone signals.

4. In an area which can receive fast Internet access.

5. In case of sickness, having a little general store not too far away.

6. Good transport links.

An Apple lover writes: Android Now 'Outshines iOS In Almost Every Aspect'

Dan Lyons wrote the following article on  January 4th, 2013 - a link to it is below

Ralf Rottmann is CTO and co-founder of Grandcentrix, the largest mobile app developer in Germany. He's also a hardcore Apple fanboy who has a house full of Apple products and more than 8,000 songs purchased on the iTunes store. He's tried out every big Android phone and found each one wanting.

But suddenly things have changed. He just got a Nexus 4, the flagship Android phone made by LG and running Jelly Bean, the latest version (4.1) of Android. And since switching it on two weeks ago, he hasn't touched his iPhone 5.

"When iOS 6 came out, for the first time I complained about the lack of innovation in this major new release. I asked myself whether we might see Apple beginning to lose its lead position in mobile platforms," Rottmann writes in an essay on Gizmodo.
Rottmann goes on at great length and great detail about all the ways, big and small, that Jelly Bean outguns Apple's iOS 6. The only thing he misses, he says, is iMessage.
Sure, he's just one guy. But he's a significant guy. And more and more people like him, from all around the world, are coming to the same conclusion.

A young woman's guide for building her future with financial security.

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business.

When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died,
he decided he needed to find a wife with whom to share his fortune.

One evening, at an investment meeting, he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Her natural beauty took his breath away."I may look like just an ordinary guy," he said to her, "But in just a few years my father will die and I will inherit $200 million".

"Impressed, the woman asked for his business card and three weeks later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much better at financial planning than men.
